Day 6 Red Dirt Beach, Pancake & Website

I drove to the “red dirt beach” east, just outside of broome. The drive was alright but had to drive for like 6 Km on ungraded gravel road. A bit loud and annoying - anyway! I made it and it was WORTH IT!!!

Had a great last day at coconut wells and flew my drone. I got some good shots and went to the night markets in the evening where I tried some buns. With duck. The tasted surprisingly good 😁 I’d recommend!!❤️Lue lisää

We left broome and drove a fair bit. We stay the Boat prison tree with a long history and drove past a massive bushfire. Even military have been here to support. Absolut incredible !!

We passed Fitzroy crossing yesterday. Beginning of this year a massive flooding destroyed the bridge here and cut the only way by car from Western Australia to the Northern Territory.

I had a great day today! Went for a quick drive, bit bumpy but alright to the „Molly springs“, quite refreshing and from the car park just a 5 min walk.

Destillery, Diamonds & sunset

What a dayyyyy!!
We headed to the destillery to get a tour around the place and let me tell you: every step is hand made!! Red color from the gin? Someone picked a couple berries in the bush.
Wax seeling for each bottle top? Grabbed by hand and chuckt into a pot & water!
No international shipping. Around 15.000-22.000 bottles a year…
Later, I was tempted to buy some aboriginal art. What a fantastic peace of art ❤️
But the pink diamond was quite nice, too….

The white flower is cotton. First time for me seeing it live and touch it 🤓❤️ feels soft. Like cotton.Lue lisää

Drive & Hike to Emma Gorge

Today I went on a small trip. 1 hr drive from the campspot to the Carpark of Emma gorge. From here I started hiking for around 1 hr over steep rocks and lose ground! Worth it. I arrived at the waterfall with damn cold water, BUT jumped in for a swim.Lue lisää

What. Fun day, zooming with the boat 55 Km one way, with two V8 350HP each from our campground to the lake argyle dam.
We enjoyed a nice afternoon tea and a great sunset.

The Dam needs to produce only 50% of energy since the diamond mine closed 2,5 years ago.
This place safes 21 times of Sydney Harbour amount of freshwater!
1 week of rain will top up 5 meter. One year of usage from whole WA would take 1.5meter.

- [ ] Water catch size bigger then England
- [ ] 1000L water per person on earth contains this lake
- [ ] Somewhere in Australia you pay around 30-50$ for 1.000.000L water if a dam is full
- [ ] In kununurra 6,5$ for 1.000.000 L
- [ ] If a dam is empty the price will rise up to 10.000$ per 1.000.000
- [ ] Chia seeds biggest supplier in the world in Kununurra

Relaxed day in Katherine.
We started the day with a visit to the community markets. Nice tiny market with handcrafted stuff and some food.
I got a traditional baklava and soft Turkish biscuit, (Check picture) in addition to a flat white coffee.
Then we drove to the Katherine gorge and I walked around, explored the area for a bit ☺️ it’s a quite national park. I didn’t see any crocs here though…
In the evening we went to a speedway race in town, that was AWESOME 😄 loud cars drifting in dirt? FCK YEAHHHLue lisää

Mataranka Homestead

Kinda ….no reception here. At all ☠️☠️😳
It’s a nice campground with restaurant, bar & live music in the evening.
When we arrived we had a small bushfire close, but it went the other way, I checked the next day :)
The homestead is known for its hot springs. Natural thermal pools on the campground. The water is actually very deep, I can’t stand here what surprised me the first second🫠🫠
So this place is for …day drinking and waiting for the restaurant to open.
