A big day out

Wednesday- hard to know which day really- we left our accommodation at 1.15 am to walk to a bus meeting point. A dubious start to what was a really long day. After a 41/2 hour drive we went ballooning over a town and ruined Roman city of Pamukale. It was rather special. We then visited the baths and ruins on foot. It has quite a history of many different cultures having lived there. Met some fun people but the guide was a shocker. His English was shocking as was his knowledge. Got back at about 5 and ventured to a peaceful hotel courtyard for dinner set about another stunningly restored/ preserved Roman ruin. We got a private tour usually only reserved for hotel guests. Very special.
