• Norway 2.2 - Aurlandsfjellet NSR

    September 7, 2024 in Norway ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

After the longest road tunnel in the world we needed to get back to the other side so we took the Aurlandsfjellet national scenic route and oh my goodness that was amazing!! First was some narrow, windy, steep hairpin turns to get up to the Stegastein Viewpoint which was cool! The platform itself was interesting and the views were amazing!

Then we continued onward and upwards to the top plateau which I loved! The drive up there was so many incredible views and on top it was so many lakes and fun rocks and just amazing!! I could have spent a few days just exploring and wandering and spying on all the things! That will for sure be a next trip thing! So many nice lakes and waterfalls and all the things to walk around and explore! Or just relax and take in the view! Even found a spider with really long thin legs which was fun. And an art installation of a bear on a pile of garbage meant to make us think.

Norway has a bunch of scenic routes and after this one I am going to have to see where the others are! I know we are going to drive a couple more of them, but this was so amazing I definitely will put the others on a next time list! It was unbelievable gorgeous the entire way and my photos do not do it justice!
