    Trondheim Part 1

    September 12, 2024 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

Today we got up and had breakfast and it was gorgeous! Then we headed on into Trondheim, the fourth largest city in Norway by population size. We had 3 hours on our parking which was plenty of time for a wander. It is a really small downtown area to explore.

First we went by the cathedral (I don’t know if you can zoom in on the photo of the side, but the gargoyle guys are pretty funny), then to the park and across the old bridge and through the pedestrian area.

The municipal court building was really interesting. There were tile murals on either side and the doors were really cool metal pictures. Each door was two pieces and they were all different so that was fun.

The second church we went to, Our Lady Church we walked in and that next photo was just inside the door - like a second building face. Inside was interesting - it was a soup kitchen right there in the church itself where they have service which I don’t think I have ever seen before! I felt bad wandering in to take photos when they were helping all these people (there were a lot of people inside drinking hot beverage and doing whatever and also a lot of people hanging out outside with fire pits and stuff which I’m sure was nice since it was cold outside!). So that was interesting and nice to see them helping so many people.
