    Pitigliano is a small town on a base of tuff rocks! Which doesn’t seem like the best as tuff is pretty soft, but it has survived this long so that is kind of cool. There are lots of caves around town (and on the trails) carved into the tuff which was fun. The town is pretty nice with lots of viewpoints over the surrounding hills, and lots of small, pretty streets. We ate lunch in the one square and then wandered the town! It was fun and we even found some giant barrels that we saw in a history sign (but we couldn’t read it as it was in Italian - looking it up they might be for olive oil?).
