They don't have Waffle House but they have rest areas with "Autogrill" which serves wide variwty of meals. They have paninni of all types and grill with pastas risoto or even steaks.

It took 45 years to build the Abby and 45 minutes to destroy it. They dropped notes in the town area to warn them to get out before thy bombed so they fled to the Abby thinking that they would be safe. But the Germans still bombed the Abby.

Glorified toilet stop. Actually it was a nice shop that had someone making cameos showing how they are made. They have nice toilets and a really nice jewelry shop.

Mom is back in the game! She didn't have a temperature. But she didn't have much energy. The bus was smaller so that we could get around the tight curves. It was quite the drive. It was the most windy road I remember being on. It was very amazingly beautiful.Read more

Lava rock buried Pompeii under 18-20 ft. When the volcano erupted and spewed lava into the air, it cooled on the way down and turned to rock. Just imagine what it was like feeling the earth shake violently snd seeing fire raining from the sky and pelting everying in site.

1, 2, 3, 4 pictures of a typical home. homes had same plan with three sections. summer and winter areas and the dining area. They had an opening in the ceiling that allowed rain water in which collected and poured into the cistern.

There were shops lining the streets. Shop doors were oriental style sliding doors.
Larger spaces were summer homes. You can tell it was a house because of the cistern.

Brothels! 1. Since people came from so many different places and spoke different languages they used symbology for signage and directions. Follow the symbols (like arrows) to get to the brothel. The same symbol was on the building. They had frescos along the wall depicting different positions so they could point to the service they want.
