    Day 39, Inuyama Castle, Nagoya

    March 18, 2023 in Japan ⋅ 🌙 48 °F

Our first Japanese bullet train - from Tokyo to Nagoya. We visited Inuyama Castle, the oldest surviving medieval fortress in Japan, dating to the 16th century. For Mark and me it’s a perfect way to visit Japan - visiting cool places using local transport with someone else handling all of the logistics. 😎😎😎 Plus lots of walking, which we also like. We have already ridden several kinds of trains (were on five different ones today) which is especially fun for me since my dad was a railroad engineer and I grew up riding trains all over the South. Mark had dinner tonight at Midori, a famous sushi restaurant. (I took a pass.)Read more
