Day 55, Jeju Island, In Full Bloom

Early flight to Jeju Island, known as South Korea’s Hawaii. Just 51 miles south of the mainland, it is also known for being South Korea’s honeymoon destination. With our guide Angelo, we toured a cedar forest, a flower feast, and Sunrise Peak, a UNESCO natural heritage site, rising 600 feet above the edge of the sea. I’m not sure how, but Sunrise Peak is a volcanic mountain topped by a 300 foot deep crater. The diving ladies work nearby. The ladies weren’t diving but could be seen selling the seafood they had caught earlier in the day. Big regret. We couldn’t climb to the top of Sunrise because the trail is closed one day a month - the first Monday…. exactly when we were there. 😢 The views at the top, of the crater and the sea, are said to be spectacular.Okumaya devam et
