The day started as it ended yesterday - with rain. We took a leisurely breakfast and started a game of "Coiffeur Jass". Around 12 a.m. it started to clear up so we walked from our really beautiful and modern Stanton Lodge to the village. We took the two Gondolas up to Gampen and then Kapall. Hardly any people around, which still feels very odd, but apparently is normal for summer. We had a small snack lunch in an older restaurant. It was ok-ish. Nothing to rave about. We then walked 🚶♀️ down to the Gampen station. It said 1 hr. 30. We did it in 1 hr. 10. We walked pretty slow because it was rather steep and our muscles already ached from yesterday. It definitely is steeper everywhere than it looks. At Gampen we had a Coffee with an Apple strudel at restaurant Himmeleck. A very nice and new restaurant. They seat 2000 inside and 2000 outside. What looks now very empty is in winter 2 to 3 times occupied !!! We took the chairlift down since our legs ached.Read more
