Steppe's Crescendo - Boszhira Valley

Yesterday I thought we had ticked off the steppe, but it had one more surprise. After 3-hours driving on and off highways, dipping 161 metres below sea level, dodging gas fields, wandering camels and galloping horses we reached Boszhira Valley's rim.
No picture can do the large-scale scenery justice. The muted browns, creams and blues stunning, offering a challenge to water-colour artists.
Today's picnic lunch is stored in the memory banks, to be relived during Auckland's grey, wet days.Read more
