Vera Lynn sang ‘There will always be an England’ and maybe she had that right as London hasn’t changed much since our first visit in 1988. Red telephone boxes, double-decker buses, pubs on every corner. TV news suggests that the headliners are Andrew’s regal demise and Charles and Camilla praying sociably with the Pope – but neither topic seems to be in the local’s daily chatter.
UK daylight savings finished at the weekend, the streetsweepers are trying to manage the leaf-fall and there is a significant chill factor. Seems the perfect time to head back to NZ.Read more
