    Lovely oasis on the Plenty hwy. Onite here. Not much traffic today. Tobermorey is a working cattle station but offers campers green grass and the all important amenities.

    A fabulous onite stop at this little pub. Once a Cobb and Co stage coach Point there is an original coach parked here waiting for restoration. McKinley and his party came by this way in 1862 on his search for Burke and Wills. Lovely roast dinner. On route we passed through Cawnpour lookout.Read more

  • Longreach

    Spent 3 nights at Longreach....unable to see the dentist but did stock up on painkillers from the pharmacy for Al's tooth. Visited the Wellshot pub at Ilfracombe....a lot of history there. Rain 🌧 yesterday and this morning but cleared by the afternoon. Friendly Muscovy ducks wandering around...Read more

    Really enjoyed this onite camp. A tiny little town with wonderful pub... lovely staff....and a little camping area for onite stops. Visited the Stonehenge cemetery and took the John Edgar pioneer tourist drive. Also saw the grave of a little girl who died while her father was trying to get her to town for help back in 1882.Read more

    Bush camping 🏕 tonight on the Cooper's Creek....just out of Windorah . Al did some fishing....with success! 2 reasonable size fish....a catfish and a bream. Beautiful sunset tonight. Promise of good weather ahead.Read more

    Very few people at this cp at the moment. Last time we were here...2021 it was the Red Bash time and it was overflowing! Lovely view of the Lake Houdraman . Quilpie is known for it's Boulder Opals. Cool here...16deg. On the road again tomorrow.....but where??Read more

    Travelled nth east on the Diamantina developmental road through Cooladdi and onto Charleville. Bush cp....no pets and no smokers. Al loves it! Visited the cemetery....had breakfast out....info centre...took a look at the Hotel Corones 1929....WW11 secret base....then the site of the Angelalla bridge explosion. Pity about the spelling mistakes on one of the boards!Read more

    Free camping 🏕 tonight at Augathella. Followed the Warrego River and Al did some fishing 🎣 at our morning coffee ☕️ stop. Place of the "meat ant".....a quiet little town with a big camping area for travellers. Dinner tonight at the pub.Read more

    The main attraction here is the Chicken races at the local hotel . Raising money for charity. Also visited the site of the Qantas crash back in 1927. Lovely kept town and very green and tropical.

    A beautiful cp....very lush green gardens and a lake so lots of birdlife. Toowoomba yesterday for personal business....and a pizza 🍕 at the tavern next door. Sightseeing and shopping today. A lovely tourist drive taking in the local area. Heading off tomorrow...Read more

    Rose Isle station....50,000 acres of sheep and cattle. Beautiful setting.....best camp kitchen with fabulous fire. Went walking to find the hot bath nestled in the trees by the river. Thoroughly enjoyed. Al caught heaps of carp! Beautiful morning tea 🍵 put on by the owner Samantha and Garry. Our first station on the Darling River run.Read more

    Trilby station....our 2nd on the Darling River run. 320,000 acres of working Merino sheep. River front camp site...but very steep banks. Mild weather...fabulous fire at nights. Our own private long drop....Read more

    Our 3rd station stay..Bindara on the Darling. Full of history and hardship. Originally named Netley the Cemetery tells the story. Lovely host Barb made us feel welcome. Once again...we have it all to ourselves. Cold nights but lovely days. On the road tomorrow... also our own private ensuite!Read more

    Travelled through Menindee on our way to Ivanhoe. Lunch at the Maidens hotel . Not much at Ivanhoe. Obviously has been a thriving town. Painting is of Bourke and Wills who passed through Menindee.

    Parked up at Hillston....CV joint gone in the Isuzu. Lovely little town to have to spend time in....walk to pub...IGA ...an Opp shop for a new supply of books. Sunny 🌞 days with cold nights.

    Have enjoyed our time in Condobolin. Cold nights but clear sunny 🌞 days.
    One night we had 25mm of rain 🌧.
    Been to see Gum leaf lake....the town of Trundle where the hotel boasts the longest verandah of any hotel in NSW. The best day was our trip to Nymaggi....home to the poem " Clancy of the Overflow " by Banjo Patterson. The sheep station called The Overflow is about 32 ks SE. Al caught a Murray Cod...very happy.Read more

    Finley tonight with dinner and an ale at the RSL.....courtesy bus supplied. The beautiful Royal Doulton fountain was gifted to Narrandera in 1922. It is one of only 2 in the world....the other one being in Pakistan. Not much longer now....Read more
