Dashur Necropolis

Today's we went to visit some of the not as famous pyramids. We started with the Dashur pyramids of the Red and then the Bent pyramid.
At one point on the drive down, I counted 8 pyramids visible from the car.
We were able to go inside these pyramids and see some of the various chambers.
The bent pyramid has some interesting history, and you can clearly see how it got its name. You climb a bunch of stairs on the outside before descending deep into the inside. Then at some point you enter a grand room easily three stories high. So you climb some more stairs to reach a doorway near the top of the chamber which leads to passageway and more chambers.Read more
