• 12. + 13. Day Yamaguchi -> Hagi 47km

    11.–12. apr., Japan ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

    It rained during the night and my tent was covered in Sakura blossoms. I went to a nice shōwa style cafe with many oba and ojisans. Sadly no bread, so no sandwich. After I started my Ascent into the mountains to Hagi. On the way I stopped at a Michi no eki and had one of the best Karaage Sets ever. Just around 10 km before Hagi I found a beautiful countryside cafe with a great atmosphere and the best black sesame pudding! When arriving in Hagi, I fell in love with the place immediately... The old Samurai quarters, the Beach, the river. All the people are greeting each other. I'm a foreigner and felt like home.

    Hagi Castle Ruins with Sakura and a nice Garden. Castle town is very well preserved. The Meirin Gakusha School was very interesting and worth a visit. Biggest wooden school in Japan. The history was also super interesting. Learned a lot!Chilled in the evening in the hostel with Minami, Tsuyoshi and Santa.
