• 16. Day Izumo -> Matsue

    14 Nisan, Japonya ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

    Went to bed a little to early (around 8:30pm and woke up around 5 am. Cold night. Where is the spring?! I'm glad that the next two nights I'll spent in a Hostel again. I'm too old for this, haha.
    Found a nice Bakery Cafe with a ocean view in the morning for breakfast. Special Sight today: Izumo Taisha Temple, one of the three most important Temples in Japan.
    First I went to Bentenjima, a shrine on the beach to gather some wet sand to exchange later at the Main Shrine. The Izumo Taisha is famous for the gathering of all the Gods in October every year.
    The Temple grounds are huge and very beautiful with some Cherry Blossoms trees still blooming and a lot of nature in general. In the back of the main temple building I found the exchange spot for exchanging my wet sand for purified dry sand. So glad I got purified sand with me now :).
    Local dish of Izumi is Soba, either warm Kameage Soba or cold with three containers: Wariko Soba.
    It started raining so I decided to hang out in cafes for a while and continue my trip after to my Hostel in Matsue.
