  • Start from Nagasaki Casa Noda

    February 16 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

    Longer trip Nr. 4. This time without a tent. I managed to pack my stuff so small that I didn't need the big rear bag. So more lightweight.
    So what happened before my departure? I had my 30th birthday. Helped Tsune with moving and got invited for all you can eat Wagyu dinner! I could go to the first match of the seasons of Nagasaki, which was a success. Oh, I totally forgot about the lantern festival in Nagasaki!Read more

  • 1. Day Nagasaki -> Amakusa 78km

    February 16 in Japan ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

    I just arrived too late for lunch at the food place in Kuchinotsu but I gave them Castella and a postcard as a present for letting me sleep on their tatami. They were really happy!
    Around 3 pm I took the ferry to Amakusa. Around 4 I already reached Guesthouse Chealsea. For dinner I had an awesome Tsukemen with the perfect spiceness. In the evening I caught up with duc and we talked for a few hours.Read more

  • 2. Day Amakusa -> Akune 51km

    February 17 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 10 °C

    Wow what a great day! I started the day with writing my diary while having a light breakfast in the guesthouse. The ferry from Amakusa to Nagashima was around 10:15 am and it was already 9 am. I decided to hurry, so I can take the next part more chill. The ferry ride was around 1 hour long and really beautiful. Nagashima was super hilly. In Wakimoto, Akune I found a nice cafe with a great view and the owners Haru and Ryutaro were really open and interested. Ryutaro went on work and holiday for a couple of year in Australia, NZ and Canada. And Haru also travelled to many places and became and yoga instructor. We talked for hours and I got to know many locals. Ryutaro and Haru invited me for Okonomiyaki and drinks at a friend's place which I happily accepted. After 51 km, I reached the Hostel, checked in, took a shower and around 6:30 pm they came to pick me up. I got to know three other friends of them and one of them had even the same birthday as me. She was opening up a hostel. So exciting. We talked, ate Okonomiyaki and drank for another few hours. Such great people and such a great experience! Much love!Read more

  • 3. Day Akune -> Kagoshima 75km

    February 18 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 8 °C

    Shioya Hostel is a beautiful place. Also in combination with the Café. I love the style and the concept. One of the best!
    I went for a toast and coffee for breakfast to the Cafe and talked with the couple who are also the owners. They helped me with planning my ferry journey to Yakushima. After I also payed a visit at the iwashi Building. Nice little shop with cafe. I had the best Taiyaki with Matcha and Mochi filling.
    Around 11 am I really had to leave for Kagoshima. Around 80km! In Satsumasendai I decided to take the road through the mountains. Even though it was a climb, there was no traffic at all! It was windy and cold. Tough day. Around 4 pm I already arrived at the Hostel Little Asia in Kagoshima. I talked with my mom and went out for TonTon Ramen, which is a special Tonkotsu Ramen in Kagoshima. In the evening in the hostel I was sitting together with japanese and we talked about world politics and the Image of japanese and Germans. I sensed a lack of personal experience and found out that he never travelled before due to lack of money. Money is always a good excuse, right?
