    Mount torrens hotel camp

    Mar 7–10 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Cheap and easy self contained stay for $10 a night. Cool old pub, half decent feed and cold beer. Real locals joint…. Stayed here for a horse clinic for nelly and to escape the SA long weekend. Lot of nice towns nearby. Coop making me think I’m in contention for favourite 😆Read more

  • Brighton beachfront holiday park

    Mar 3–7 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Picked this spot as it was close to Lonsdale for a car service and brakes. Only spot we could get was an ensuite site which was a bit of a treat. Turned out to be a pretty amazing little spot. Upper market mildly snobby locals but beautiful spot. Hunting for a car for nelly.Read more

  • Johanna Beach

    February 8 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Stopped in to check out what looked like a nice beach camp. Was ok but not amazing beach would be nice in good weather but big swell.

  • Lorne CP

    Feb 5–7 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Time to escape the Bellarine… great ocean rd on our way east to SA🥹 epic little town and plenty to do. Glad peak season is over or you couldn’t pay me to stay here. Nice now holidays are over. Should un strap the surf board but hey maybe the next town. Idea from peak season day trip….Read more

  • Sandyland drsdale vic

    Nov 22–Feb 4, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Staying at Sandyland. It was an experience, learnt some things took an a bunch of casual jobs round the property, some more interesting and enjoyable than other. Renovated stables, built yards, sub divided paddocks, ran water pipes, built cabinets. Considering building in VIC was slow it kept me busy and made some money. Had visits from Nellys mum and 2 of her friends which was nice. There is plenty of charm to Drysdale and its surrounding towns but could not live there long term….Read more

  • Mount barnett roadhouse

    August 18, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

The gateway back to manning gorge camp with a mildly famous burger I must try. Also a good spot to get a few bits and pieces if required. Only place with reception that isn’t wifi is a plus too😆.

Burger, I’d say a typical old school Aussie burger, not the American style everyone has adopted now. It was large with a standard burger bun, beef patty, cheese, onion, bacon, egg, beetroot, pineapple, tomato, lettuce and pretty standard sauces. It was nice to have an old school “works burger” not the best I’ve had but not bad. Beef patty could have been better too!😆 I am a tough critic though as brodie says “ the burgers are better at Alex’s Webber!”

  • Galvins gorge

    August 18, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Pretty epic spot! Dog friendly, easy walk close to the road, rope swing, cascading waterfalls not super busy and quite picturesque. Could spend an hour or a day quite easily. Possibly my favourite.

  • Manning gorge campground

    Aug 17–19, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Thought we were going to be able to stay at mount Barnett, turns out this is the only campground near by. Beautiful spot to stay cost $50 the first night which includes the pass to explore the gorge then $30 every night after. As well as being the only spot to get out and explore mannjng gorge it’s also only about 20 mins to get back to Galvin’s gorge. Toilets and showers were good. Camp grounds got more spread out the further you went from the amenities. Beautiful sandy beach, swimming hole and creek with a rope swing for an afternoon bevy or two, floatation recommend! ☺️🍻Read more

  • Adcock gorge

    August 17, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Had to un hook the van and do a bit of 4wding to get to this one, worth a visit as it was a large super quiet swimming hole at the top. A few backpackers beat us in for the best spot but a nice swim none the less. Would be cool with water flowing but we are a bit late in the season / early for the next for that…. Would recommend.Read more

  • Lennards gorge

    August 16, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

Another day another hike. 3kms with a steep bit at the far end, very rocky. Would probably be quite nice in the wet season or early on when everything opens but not much here for me besides the step count… Its allegedly possible to get down the bottom but it was a bloody long and steep way down and we couldn’t see a way, not to mention all the signs were claiming cliff fall risk and do not attempt to climb down. Still nice to see probably wouldn’t bother next time.Read more

  • Marchfly glen

    Aug 15–17, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Nice little free camp for best access to bell gorge and a small backtrack to Lennard’s gorge. Small creek down the bottom of camp but not running so it’s a bit gross unfortunately. No March flies or insects to report though 👌Read more

  • Tunnel creek

    August 15, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Pretty cool cave to explore, a good head light is a must as it’s mostly black. If you were there by yourself the first water crossing would get you second guessing as it’s mostly too deep to stand we followed a group across where we could barley stand, me kicking a stick in the muddy ground nearly had me walking on water. A good few bats in the ceiling I only found one well hidden crocodile but it is still unsettling never knowing for sure 😆 a few cool openings to the sky and a nice creek at the end. Lots of screaming kids when we did it which was a tad unfortunate but that’s tourism…Read more

  • Windjana george

    August 15, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Pretty epic hike, very prehistoric Jurassic Park feel to it. Turns out we went on the old hike and didn’t stop where we were supposed to, 1.9km turned into 6-7km. Much better with the longer hike though, lots more crocs too! 🐊Read more

  • Lennards river rest stop free camp

    Aug 14–15, 2024 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 27 °C

End of the black top corrugations start from here. Also the closest spot to windjana gorge and tunnel creek. First two attractions on the Gibb. Unsure on tunnel creek as it’s meant to be pitch black ice cold water to swim in and full of fresh water crocs 🤔 see tomorrow I guess…..Read more
