  • Broome 3.0

    Aug 8–13, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Stop in Broome for a couple of days to stock up and sort our lives out before going for the Gibb. Back at the racecourse with a pretty good spot! Spent too much time on the beers so it took an extra day or so to get out 😆😞. Did get to catch up with a good mate though by staying the extra day so that was a plus.Read more

  • Gnylmarung

    Jul 28–Aug 8, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Amazing little bush camp, run by the traditional land owner and a few others he employs seasonally this was a quiet and spacious camp that backed right onto an epic bay with clear water for swimming. We booked 5 days originally then added 6 more as it was that good. Great for launching the boat or spending days relaxed on the beach. No power and very little reception unless you hang out by the cell tower and even then it wasn’t great. Good toilets and showers but only limited hot water. $50 a night was probably a bit steep but what it lacked in amenities it more than made up for with the location. There were quite a few staying a month and I can see why. Fishing was good, whales everywhere and got some magic weather too which is always nice.Read more

  • Bannana well getaway

    Jul 25–27, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Super quiet and relaxed, run by a few old crew who are happy to have a yarn or give out info on the area. Nice inlet with alleged mud crabs and fish. None for us. A few crocs spotted around so a bit more careful from here onwards! 😆 mozzies are a tad brutal in the evenings but other than that a nice spot!Read more

  • Dugal (flat rock)

    Jul 22–25, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Took the cliff site up high for some extra space, good views, cracking fire pit spot and perfect access to a large stretch of 4wd beach with reef, lagoons and rock pools. Impressive to see the tides come in and out all up and down this coast. Few epic days spent and got up close to a tiger shark.Read more

  • James price point 2.0

    Jul 18–22, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Lucked out with one of the best sites in here so stayed 4 days, was only supposed to be 3 nights but lost the dog on the 3rd night and figured we deserved another. Found him after 4 hours of searching which really ruined a nice day and arvo, turns out he’s not a fan of fireworks. Mint 4wd beach almost to ourselves we spent a good bit of time on. First go at the camp oven meal was a success with lamb shanks and veg. Shame about the 72 hour limit or I could stay here a good while!Read more

  • James price point

    Jul 17–18, 2024 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

Pulled in a bit late couldn’t get in at Quandong point and got a little “temporarily immobilised” (not bogged) testing if I could get the van to an epic spot, turns out there was a reason no one went there 😆. Found a spot here at James price. Will hunt for a better spot tomorrow but nice enough, burgers whales and mint stars👌Read more

  • Broome time

    Jun 30–Jul 11, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Stayed at discovery park Broome, made the mistake of school holidays so it cost us 100 per night, nice enough spot and park, scored a waterfront site. Unfortunately had fairly windy days for the whole week so got a few jobs and Gibb prep done. Would stay again if it was off season and a bit cheaper.Read more

  • Cape Keraudren

    Jun 22–28, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Snagged the best spot in the whole joint! Pretty epic little beach camp. Had the joint mostly to ourselves. Good system with a pay and find your own spot. Have to be adventurous or you end up in a car park. 6 nights here, big tides and good scenery. No fish but probably didn’t try as hard as I could have. Would definitely stay again!Read more

  • Back to headland

    Jun 21–22, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Dropped Nellys mum back off after a few days with us and stayed in the same free parking area. Better site this time that backed onto the oval and went for dinner and sunset at rays, probably the best joint in town, was mint would definitely go back. Also got to experience the pier after some tips from the lads. All in all a good stay.Read more

  • Pardoo station.

    Jun 19–21, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Spent 2 nights at Pardoo, friendly little park big spots at the back would be best if booking ahead. Nightly campfires with a sundowner/ happy hour crew and fresh baked bread daily made to order. Access to sundowner lookouts with long tables, creeks with plenty of fishing, beaches and mangroves all available by 4wd. Nice spot with large tides. Shame the weather wasn’t amazing for our short stay. Could be a nice place for a slow holiday. Nice little night with beach pizzas too!👌Read more

  • Point Samson

    Jun 11–18, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Stayed a week with magic weather at the cove holiday village. Not the cheapest at $60 a night but mint joint and would definitely stay again. Got out to explore the some of the islands and landed a few fish for a feed. Pub had a nice beer garden where you can elegedly BYO, was expensive but with cocktail hour and happy hour it’s manageable. Beautiful little holiday town!Read more

  • Cleaverville beach camp

    Jun 6–11, 2024, Indian Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Mint camp spot. Nice and secluded if I ever go back I would book site 138 and up. Prickles were a bitch and the sandflies got us good one night, But overall totally worth it. $16 per night drop toilets and dump points are plenty creek fishing and ocean/island adventures very dependant on tides any less than 3m not easy to get the boat in and out. Could spend some more time there easily!Read more

  • Dampier

    Jun 2–6, 2024, Indian Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Few nights in Dampier and Karratha. Island hoping and exploring in the archipelago the one night weather allowed, we hiked through the ranges, mountain biked through the worst set up trails I have seen so far. Big treat after near 8 weeks of no real shops having a Coles, Woolworths a Kmart and almost anything you could want. Last night at the mermaid hotel for the state of origin. Good spot!Read more

  • Fortescue #2

    May 31–Jun 1, 2024 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 27 °C

Awesome riverside spot managed to put the boat in and trawl up and down when the wind died for the arvo, 2 fish one keeper. Would loved to stay another day but expecting a downpour at which point I may not be able to get out for a while so time to move on. Plenty of old crew staying between 1-4 months which was pretty mental. Would definitely stay again!Read more

  • Onslow

    May 27–30, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Stopped into the Onslow to catch a mate and stayed 3 days…. Oven view caravan park was probably the best I’ve seen, right on the water big spots grass patches and a good attitude. Not a bad little town. Beach club was nice pub was pretty decent. Had a win on the river fishing but no joy in the ocean considering it’s a hotspot… might need a bigger boat😆 not that many photos.Read more
