  • Kyoto - Rural town

    April 15, 2024 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Kyoto is the authentic Japanese Town. I loved it personally. The food the people the city itself, everything in it, just mesmerised me. I tried one of the typical dishes that where served during the summer months: Tsukemen.

Tsukemen is enjoyed by dipping cold noodles into a separate bowl of hot, concentrated broth. Why not mix both together?

Eating tsukemen this way allows one to control the amount of broth on the noodles and intensifies the flavor experience. Don’t forget to slurp while to eat it! It is first of all a compliment to the chef + you enjoy the flavour much more than usual.

I just fell in love with Tsukemen. Maybe I had THE BEST, for my first one. Thus why very hard to beat in the future. But nevertheless it was one of the best dishes I had while in my stay in Japan.

  • Tokyo - Part 1: Biggest City in the worl

    April 17, 2024 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

I’ve been on plenty big cities in my life.
Let alone on this Adventure I’m on. But Tokyo is the biggest in the world. You want to know what is even crazier about this? It doesn’t feel like the biggest city in the world. How crazy is this?

Let me recap, I’ve been to Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Saigon, Nha Trang, Hanoi, Manila and Jakarta. Those are Multimillion-People-cities. All what thry have in common is noise. Noise from every corner and crevice. Not Tokyo. Even the car filled streets are quiet. Something I cannot explain with just words, but one had to see it itself. I am just stunned as how they do it.

  • Tokyo - Part 3: Skytower and Shibuya Sky

    April 19, 2024 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 19 °C

    Both marvellous and stunning views.

    Skytower:
The Tokyo Skytree is a famous landmark in Tokyo. It’s one of the tallest towers in the world, standing at around 634 meters tall. It offers panoramic views of Tokyo from its observation decks, hence where the pictures come from. The tower also serves as a broadcasting tower, providing television and radio signals for the Tokyo area.

    Shibuya Sky:
Is an observation deck located on the rooftop of the Shibuya Scramble Square building in Tokyo. It offers stunning views of the Shibuya area and beyond, including the iconic Shibuya Crossing.

  • Tokyo - Part 5: Pokemon Centers

    April 22, 2024 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

The iconic value of Pokemon in Japan. Pokemon plays a big part of my childhood and teenage years. From opening and collecting TCG Cards to playing the virtual games on a handheld.

That is why I had to visit the Pokemon Centers in Japan. Finding your favourite Pokemon in these stores and buying them as a souvenir has been the best part so far.

Tokyo itself has 5 Pokémon Centers, which as a fanatic tourist I visited them all:

    Tokyo DX - Tokyo Station
    Mega Tokyo - Sunshine City
    Shibuya - Shibuya Parco
    Skytree Town - Oshiage
    Tokyo Bay - Mitsui

  • Okinawa - Last dive

    April 26, 2024 in Japan ⋅ 🌧 26 °C

My last big stop before leaving Asia for good and returning home. Okinawa was a small childhood memory that I didn’t know I wanted to visit. Yet I found myself there wondering what I should do. This last stop came with a lot of mixed feelings. Should I return? How will my life continue after returning home? Those were questions that flooded my head.

The weather wasn’t easy on me as well. Rather having a last summer-paradise escape, all that awaited me was rain and cloudy skies. Which in the end wasn’t bad. I had time to do just nothing and enjoy the last moments before returning in the termoil of life.

The end was bittersweet, I’ve made three good last friends, which I have to thank them for making my stay much more enjoyable. Who knows if our paths will cross in the future.

    Till then, so long.

  • Gunma - Waterfalls and Onsen

    May 1, 2024 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

It has been 90 days since I ventured on to this unknown part of the world.

I had a big privilege. My extended family in Japan housed and took care of me for the couple of last days. I haven’t felt home or the sensation to belong somewhere in a very long time.
They gave me this feeling. For that I’ll be forever grateful.

In that sense, I’ve traveled to Gunma with them. Saw beautiful landscapes and went to a Onsen up into the mountains. We smelled like rotten eggs after it, because the thermic waters were from sulfuric origins.

Last picture is a big accomplishment and a dream I always wanted to try. Freh Wasabi!
