We’re looking forward to some bonus holiday time as we enjoy a short road trip with the family. We’ll also be taking the great grandsons to visit Great Grandpa in Orange 😊.

After stopping off for lunch at our favourite Hartley Cafe, we arrived at Orange mid afternoon and checked into the Canobolas Caravan Park. There was time to visit Dad in the aged care facility while we waited for the others to arrive. A late pizza dinner was ordered for the Southwell crew who had been delayed for 5 hours with trailer issues. It was lovely to finally have them arrive! Reuben’s 6th Birthday

Reuben has been so excited about his birthday! Before breakfast we all gathered in the camper trailer to give him his gifts. How delightful! We were off to the zoo to celebrate. A pretty special day!!

Off to Dubbo

Arriving at Dubbo at about 1:30 we decided to drop off the trailer and head to the zoo to get a lay of the land for tomorrow. We had Reuben’s birthday cake on the Savannah lookout tower after checking out some of the animals. Back to the caravan park to have dinner and get an early night ready for the full day tomorrow!Read more

Today we set off for a full day at the zoo. It was so good being able to fit in half a day yesterday as it made planning today easier. The zoo is fantastic with lots of opportunities to see the animals in a natural environment.Read more

Heading back

Time to head towards home. After exploring the Main Street we met up with Marty, Beth and the boys to drive to Orange. Dubbo is a lovely place. The trees in town at this time of the year are beautiful. I’d love to return to Dubbo and visit a few more places such as the jail....Read more

Lunch with Great Grandpa

We picked up Dad from Ascot Gardens and took him to Cook Park to meet up with the others. He enjoyed the outing as well as catching up with family. Dad is doing really well and is happy living in Orange living with family. Jenny was able to come in and meet us as well which was lovely.Read more

After stopping off for dinner at Lithgow, we completed the last leg of our journey., having gathered many precious memories over the past few days. We feel very blessed.
