Lots of stress, good and bad, leading up to our rushed departure on the 26th. Due to deep snow simultaneous with mud season at the house, we stashed Bruno in the back parking area of Saxtons River Distillery in Brattleboro. They have our unending gratitude, and we have taken with us two bottles of their maple liqueur for friends we're seeing up the road.Les mer

After a night in the worst motel I've ever experienced outside of the third world, we walked into the Stockade District of Kingston on the morning of the 27th. The town center is full of character and is very old - was the first capital of New York among other notable things. This is definitely on our list of towns to explore further.Les mer

Armstrong Valley Winery - 200 year old estate. Very welcoming Harvest Hosts members. We were alone in the RV parking space, facing a line of trees and drinking wine while watching the sun set. Our FIRST night in the RV and it was a pleasure. In the morning, we walked Abby on the winery grounds and met/talked with the manager, who saved our skin by warning us of the super twisty mountain road out of town.Les mer

A beautiful, peaceful park close to Appomattox (which we'll visit tomorrow morning on our way out). So very quiet, lots of grounds to walk (30 miles of trails, and an amphitheater for dark sky viewing). I'm at work at the picnic table while Michael problem-solves the legion of issues our used rig has presented. Abby seems to love the camping thing and I think she might even think the payoff of experiencing the new is bigger than the stress of the ride.Les mer
