    Off!

    6 Temmuz 2022, Ispanya ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

This is my first 'long' motorcycle trip. I guess there always has to be a 'primary' objective and mine is that some months ago I saw a video of a flooded canyon in Albania.....Hoxha had built a dam and flooded a very populated canyon and just left the people there. As the water rose they moved up the canyon's sides until there were scattered villages perched all along the rim with no access....so a ferry started and it takes motorcycles to hitherto inaccessible areas.....so I have to go and this is my attempt....and it starts with turning Right at the top of my home track.Okumaya devam et

  • Tragacete

    7 Temmuz 2022, Ispanya ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

This is 'Cueva de Nacimiento' or the cave of birth....perhaps it is named for the Christmas celebrations that occur here when they set up a 'Belem' at the entrance but I think it is for more prosaic reasons....Okumaya devam et

  • Uchaud

    8 Temmuz 2022, Fransa ⋅ 🌬 29 °C

This turned out to be a B&B but billed as a hotel....very covid orientated with dinner outside with tables as far apart as possible and the food basically panzied up hamburger. France has apparently completely run out of mustard too.Okumaya devam et

  • Domzale

    10 Temmuz 2022, Slovenya ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

I had to hang about for somebody to turn up and check me in but all very nice. Sitting there I found out that there is a fearsome mountain pass just to the north......maybe I should ignore it??....4 days in now, I think I have time to do a little exploring....Okumaya devam et

  • Vrsic Pass

    11 Temmuz 2022, Slovenya ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

I will remember this for a long time....The pass was made by Russian prisoners of war, some of their graves are at the top. Each hairpin has cobbles so that the horses' hooves could grip ....not so good for motorcycle tyres! The views are incredible. No idea how to pronounce the name.Okumaya devam et

  • Burnum

    13 Temmuz 2022, Hırvatistan ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

I came across this completely by accident. Apparently it is quite a famous Roman Legion base....but I just saw this sitting in a field.

  • Kings' Landing

    14 Temmuz 2022, Hırvatistan ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Walking the walls on Dubrovnik......stupid expensive but you only live once. By getting up early I simultaneously managed to be on my own and so rushed that I got sunscreen into my eyes and couldn't see for most of the way round....just by pointing and clicking though I got some very nice shots.Okumaya devam et

  • Lost

    14 Temmuz 2022, Karadağ ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Getting quite confused by the geography now and bits of coast with small corridors to their owner countries with no coastline....luckily I found a ferry here to save me several hours.

  • Crossing

    15 Temmuz 2022, Karadağ ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

The border looks hard to find on a map....many of the roads just stop before the border...but then I found a jam and suddenly lots of beggars.

  • Koman

    15–16 Tem 2022, Arnavutluk ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

So I got here! Spent a few hours getting ferry tickets for tomorrow and finding out where to go. All the roads seem to be under construction at the same time so gravel seems to be the norm with graves on every hair pin which is a bit unnerving.Okumaya devam et

  • Kryezi

    16–17 Tem 2022, Arnavutluk ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Well I found somewhere to stay in the middle of nowhere....the owner says he just wants to be a builder and leave Albania for the UK with his (now get this) 'cousins' who number about 70!

  • Berat

    17–19 Tem 2022, Arnavutluk ⋅ ☀️ 36 °C

So my goal of Koman was in the past......Now What? I had been told about the fascinating city of Berat so off I go.....
