Undara Lava Tube

These cool caves and tubes were created by hot lava. The archway is the top layer of lava that cooled and crusted while the deluge of hot lava continued to flow.

I find it hard to get my head around this prehistoric era and to imagine a time where Australia had active volcanos, it is mind blowing stuff! To think that this tube is over 190,000 years old, makes my little life and the small amount of time I will occupy on this earth just a teeny tiny speck.
