    Not much to pictures of today. I was alone all day on the Trail. But when I got to the Albergues a lot of my Pilgrim friends showed up. That perked my day. Where all having dinner together tonight.

    Enjoying a very nice rest day here in Astorga. Slept in, had a nice breakfast, when to the Cathedral, to the Chocolate Museum and wondered the very busy streets. The city is gorgeous. I’m so glad I’ve experienced it.Read more

    Beautiful walk today through vineyards, cherry orchards and small villages. Villafranca is one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever seen.

    A 15 mile day mostly flat until you got to the last 2.5 miles. Then, it was straight up!!! The scenery was breathtaking. Reminded of Southern Oregon and Northern California. I crossed the 400 point.YEAH. 100 miles to go!!!Read more

  • Palos de Rei to Arzue

    Walked a long 18 miles this morning to Arzue. . This was the last of my long hikes. I just have 2 hiked on in to Santiago. 12 miles each. I should be in Cathedral Plaza by noon on Sunday- YEAH.

    Last full day of hiking. It doesn’t seem possible but tomorrow morning I’ll arrive in Santiago de Compostela. But today was a very nice hiking day. It was warn, the scenery was beautiful, and the distance was short, only 12 miles.Read more

    Made it here this morning before 11:00 after a beautiful walk. Made my way the the Cathedral and went to Mass. Then I went to the Pilgrims Office to receive my Compostela (certificate). I’ll be meeting fellow pilgrims for dinner. It’s hard to believe that I did it. I walked the 500 Camino de Santiago😂Read more

    I’ve had just a wonderful day here in Finisterre. I just can’t believe how beautiful it is. The town, harbor, lighthouse and ocean are all so stunning. I’m a bit sad, my Camino is over. But I really do need the rest. I noticed today that my legs are slowing down.
    Finisterre was named by the Romans. It means “finis terrae” or the end of the earth. Most people now say the end of the world. In Roman timed it was the end of the world. You could go no further, until Columbus proved that the world was round.

    I’ve fallen love with this place. The Camino choose the best place for the end. I’m more relaxed today than I can ever remember. I talked to a lady today, my age, from Arizona, who just finished her eight Camino. And she’s planning another in the future. She told me that I’m hooked too and that I’ll be back for another Camino.   • Lisbon

    Just spent three days in Lisbon. It’s a beautiful city but big. Most of my time was spend on the subway. I think I’m starting to wear down from this trip. I wasn’t as energetic as usual and didn’t rush to see the sights as I did in other cities. I’ll have to come back to Lisbon. I’m about to get on a bus for little 15 hour ride to Barcelona. Hopefully I’ll sleep must of that time.Read more
