    20,000 step day in Paris

    It was a 20,000 step day today and a 2 post day with all the amazing things we saw. Our first stop was the beautiful Saint-Chapelle church in the heart of Paris. It was the seat of royal power for a few centuries and is now housed with the Palace of Justice. Built between 1242-1248 to house the relics of the Passion of Christ, specifically the Crown of Thorns (which to our disappointment is in Notre Dame currently so we did not see it). We went back to the square in front of Notre Dame because on the ground somewhere is marked the center point of Paris… love GPS which took us right to it. Then we were on the metro off to the Montmarte district with several landmarks on our list. The MontMarte cemetery, Moulin Rouge, Montmarte Basillica Sacre’-Coeur, and a few other destinations like food and shopping.     Part 2 of our 20,000 step day yesterday…. These are photos of the Montmarte cemetery, Janice in front of the Moulin Rouge, our walk photos, the center-point mark by Notre Dame….. cemetery kitties, etc. it was a nice day. Cooler than we expected so as you can see there was some shopping for a warmer coat as well.Читать далее

    Last day in the city of Paris

    Last day in the city, tomorrow night we’re staying at an airport hotel, and we all had another great day. Jeanne & Janice went to the happiest place in Paris, Disneyland Paris and Lyn and I just walked out the door and kept going until we were tired of walking. We found some really quaint little streets and shops, then had a delicious bowl of ramen. We all met back at the apartment and went out to our last Paris dinner. Tomorrow at the hotel might seem like hotel food so we wanted a really nice last dinner. Breakfast at our apartment tomorrow and then hotel by the middle of the day to start our descent…. I think we’re all ready, but it has been a really nice trip. Suzy left yesterday and as I’m writing is waiting for the last leg of her journey home. Bye bye Rue du Caire apartment.Читать далее

    Last day - airport hotel

    Arrivederci Monterosso, Verona and Venice and adieu to Paris, it’s been a lovely trip. Tonight we’re tucked in to our airport hotel, taking off in the morning… home by dinner tomorrow. Like the seniors we are, we had time on our hands so we hopped on the airport transport train right out our door and figured out the path to our plane in the morning. Years ago we would have laughed at our parents for that and I’m sure now our kids who happen to see this will do the same🤣🤣. “We can’t make you not be like your parents.” The hotel we’re in tonight is celebrating its 10 year anniversary so instead of hotel food for dinner we were treated to 5⭐️ delicacies… bonus last night surprise.
