On October 23, after about a year and a week since we started traveling in "las Americas", we left the new world and, flying from Montreal to Amsterdam, re-entered the old continent. What is immediately noticeable upon returning to Europe is how people interact. That vitality, goodwill, pleasant curiosity and genuine smiles of the Latin American world are unfortunately missing in Western Europe... A bus driver got angry when we asked him how to validate the ticket, the information worker at the station rudely sent us to another information desk. People seem rushed and irritated, there is agglomeration, noise. A group of noisy young people get on the train at 10:00 a.m. with cans of beer in their hands. During the train journey, people talk loudly on the phone in all the languages of the world. Welcome back to Europe!
