This is an adventure and experiment in life, love, and lactic acid. Dan and I are walking the Camino Portuguese, and that's about all the planning we have.

Coffee Break before go time. Our plan is to walk from Tui, Spain to Santiago de Compestela (approximately 100+ K.) We will take the spiritual variant along the way. Keep in mind, we have decided that this is loosely planned...so, let's just roll with the flow and see where we go!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Literally. It's been 27 hours non-stop. And we ain't done yet! Flew from Dallas to Paris. Took a taxi to another airport in Paris to catch a flight to Porto, Portugal. Took a taxi to the train station. Currently riding train from Porto to Tui, Spain!

What an exhausting and adventurous day we've had so far!

Sitting by the dock of the bay

Walked from Pontevedra to Cambarro today. Not a long walk, and the weather was very pleasant! Saw sheep, horses, cows, huge bee hives, and a crawdad right in the middle of the trail. Far from water! So strange! Got a beer, got free foo, and checked into our beautiful room sitting on a bay near the Atlantic Ocean. Great day. Nap time.Leggi altro

Remember that movie? The main character, Truman, comes to realize he lives in a fake world.? Remember? That is what much of this camino adventure has felt like, but esp this town Combarro. I have come to know that there is no way that any of these pictures will ever come near the actual beauty you experience on the camino. It's not just the incredible nature that surrounds you, it's the smells (pine, eucalyptus, basil...etc), the way the temps fluctuate, the breeze brushing against you, the various grounds on your boots, the beat of your poles, and the sound of silence. I have come to the conclusion that we would have made it to santiago 4.5 days faster if Dan did not stop and pet every cat on the camino. Just an observation.

It's been fun. Cheers! Beautiful country, beautiful people. But the hotel? Mmmmmm....nah. lol. But, the green wine helped us survive 😀
