Leon to Gijon and Santiago de Compostela

After 21 days of walking over 400km Robbie and I rented a Mini and decided to drive to the coastal town of Gijon . It was the most beautiful drive I've ever been on. Spain continues to take my breath away day after day. We then met up with our Dutchie cousins who came all the way from Holland to meet us in Santiago for a couple days of great food, wine and company.Leggi altro

Santiago de Compostela to Madrid

We took the 4 hour fast train from Santiago to Madrid. One Ham Museum and a Flamenco show for Robbie Kins here and back to Canada tomorrow. Beautiful big city but we were exhausted and snuggled in early. Can't wait to see our family!Leggi altro

Was a long and eventful travel day from Madrid yesterday. There was a medical emergency on the plane so an ER doc and myself tended to an unresponsive lady. She ended up just having a fainting episode so all was well.
Then this morning, our airport hotel was 6km away from the airport, so as true pilgrims we decided to walk it. After 13 hours in a plane it felt so good to put one foot in front of the other again. Never in a million years would we have done that before this trip. As they say, the Camino truly begins when you get home. Buen Camino!Leggi altro
