We drove up into the Blue Ridge Mountains (slightly scary with the hairpin turns) and hiked the Johnson family farm. The original building was constructed in 1774.

This was a spectacular hike. After the 134 stairs it was an easy stroll. So much history. Once owned by Thomas Jefferson - he loved this natural wonder.

We hiked natural bridge today. We hike the cedar Creek Trail, which is about 2 miles. We saw natural bridge lace Falls, the lost river and saltpeter cave.

At natural Bridge, in this cave, you can hear a river running in the ground. Since the 1700s people have tried to figure out where it starts and where it ends.

Saltpeter Cave

This cave was used during the war of 1812 and the Civil War for to mine the saltpeter for gunpowder. It was SO large

It was a really beautiful drive. Choked a bit at the $30 price tag just to get on the roadway, but it was worth it once we were here.

Camping at Matthew’s Arm

Hershey Park
