PengembaraThe half mile elevation sign reminded me that I want to recommend the 1 mile elevation vista at Sandia crest in Albuquerque. that is where the wind servers launched by driving up the east side and provides a spectacular view from high elevation. In the 1970s, I spent two weeks there working on airborne laser.
Johnson Farm Trail / peaks of Otter

We drove up into the Blue Ridge Mountains (slightly scary with the hairpin turns) and hiked the Johnson family farm. The original building was constructed in 1774.

Natural Bridge Va

This was a spectacular hike. After the 134 stairs it was an easy stroll. So much history. Once owned by Thomas Jefferson - he loved this natural wonder.
PengembaraHonestly, it was beautiful, beyond beautiful, but I wouldn’t use the word serene. A ton of other people enjoying the area as well.

We hiked natural bridge today. We hike the cedar Creek Trail, which is about 2 miles. We saw natural bridge lace Falls, the lost river and saltpeter cave.

At natural Bridge, in this cave, you can hear a river running in the ground. Since the 1700s people have tried to figure out where it starts and where it ends.

Saltpeter Cave

This cave was used during the war of 1812 and the Civil War for to mine the saltpeter for gunpowder. It was SO large

It was a really beautiful drive. Choked a bit at the $30 price tag just to get on the roadway, but it was worth it once we were here.

Hershey Park

PengembaraThought we fixed that - I’ll try again - i’m pretty sure we’re the only country in the world that still uses Fahrenheit so it’s auto set to Celsius lol.
Roller Coaster Day

It is not the roller coasters that got us…. It was the stairs getting to all the platforms lol
PengembaraFunny thing is we went in the park and said we’re too old to ride roller coasters. They look scary. But then we saw the old wooden roller coaster and said we should ride that. Had so much fun, after we wrote it a second time we rode the next biggest coaster. After we wrote that twice we went searching for another bigger coaster. Apparently we’re not too old to ride roller coasters lol
