We rose reasonably early to take the car back to Perth.
It was another beautiful sunny day and we were able to walk to the art gallery and enjoy a coffee and some art including some by artists who had begun life in the uk.
From there we walked through some stores and on down to Elizabeth Quay. Here we found the Brewhouse and tried several local brews along with flatbread and delicious dips.
We took Transperth back to Edgewater where we did a tour of a giant Bunnings to kit ourselves with parts for the garden step rail.Read more

Bright and clear with forecast top in Perth of 39 degrees.
C & I set to building the rail. However lack of suitable drill bits and rising temperatures curtailed activity. J & S took Crispy to have his hand dressed. A painted the poolside plants from inside.
We spent the afternoon finishing off various bits and enjoying the a/c.
Hope to eat out if it’s cool enough!

Last day in Perth

Another hot day forecast and by 09.00 it was 36 degrees-phew. Brilliant sunny morning. We drove to Mass at St Simon Peter it was so hot.
Charlie cooked another delicious breakfast which we had outside then some packing. We all then went up to Mindarie Keys for coffee, much busier than usual.
12.30 our taxis arrived, Azizi brothers both came to ensure there was sufficient room, and we said farewell to Uncle Crispy. We had some lunch with Charlie & Sue at the airport as their flight to Adelaide was an hour after ours, though ours was indicating delay.
We said our goodbyes and went to await our flight which was some 45 minutes late leaving. When we did the views of Perth and coast heading north, including Ocean Reef and Mindarie Keys were stunning in the late afternoon sun. We landed in Bangkok just after eleven local time.Read more

Our inbound flight was smooth with opportunity for a snooze and late arrival was countered by a late departure of the A380 to LHR.

We landed bang on time despite late departure. One of the most comfortable rides we’ve had. Maybe the Recaro seats but also a splendid aircraft A380-800. There was plenty of moonlight but no ‘blood’ moon visible from our side of the plane.
LHR T2 was pretty quiet and we were out in less than an hour to meet our ride home.
End of a memorable and varied trip. Zero degrees a little different from the 40 degrees we left in WA.Read more
