Day 6 - Oller del Mas Winery

We arrived at the winery to a excellent tapas meal and of course there was wine. We had cold Broccoli soup, a salad similar to a Cobb salad, then spicy potatoes, followed by a chicken dish and a fish dish, desert was cheese cake.

It is now about 3:00, and after all the food and wine I was ready for a nap, but there was still more wine to taste. We walked through the vineyard and saw vines that were a few years old and some as old as 30 years, which in the life time of a grape vine is adolescent.

Oller del Mas is one of the oldest winerys in the region. The grounds have been in the family for 36 generations. They currently have 147 acres of vineyard and continue to grow. Recently they discovered a vine thought to be extinct and are working to reintroduce this grape type back into new wines.
