  • Skadar lake

    October 27, 2021 in Montenegro ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Skadar lake… the biggest lake of Southern Europe. Amazing nature and hilly like Appenzell. Our legs burned during the day and our butts froze during the night (our first frost so far). But all worth it!Read more

  • Foodprint

    October 30, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

As we leave Greece and the Balkans behind us, we need to share another foodprint. Though we certainly had some amazing food highlights here, our hearts… or stomachs remain loyal to the Italian cuisine. 😉 But we did find some amazing Chinese restaurants in Athens and Crete. Let’s see if Italy will still remain uncontested the further east we get 😉Read more

  • Going south

    October 30, 2021 in Albania ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Komoot led us to some questionable roads again on our way out of Tirana… 😅 Somehow it wants us to go off-road.

  • Offroad again

    November 5, 2021 in Albania ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Against all advice from locals we were optimistic enough to give this “shortcut” a try. Little did we know that we would embark on a road popular within the 4x4 off-road community (apparently it’s in some off-road guide book). After sometimes steep and complicated roads, we were rewarded with incredible landscapes and a beautiful camping spot with endless apples.Read more

  • First nights in Greece

    November 10, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

We are in Greece now!!! Thank you Kostas, the baker, for hosting our first night in Greece and letting us taste his creations from his bakery. We then continued further south and found an amazing wildcamping spot in the woods.Read more

  • Porto Katsiki

    November 13, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We may have found the most beautiful beach so far… Beside a few other van campers, we have the beach to ourselves. Our van neighbours even invited us to a great music and wine night. 🍷

  • Off to Peloponnes

    November 18, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Ever since entering Greece, everyone told us not to miss the island Peloponnes. Let’s see what awaits us there! The first night on the island was already positive as we found a small taverna on the coast which closed for the winter season and gave us shelter against the rain. 🥳Read more

  • Thank you Yorgos and Elisa!

    November 25, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

We had the privilege to spend two nights at Yorgos and Elisas place while waiting for the rain to stop. It felt so good to have a home cooked meal again with this lovely family which made us feel immediately at home. We even got to eat Turkey for thanksgiving. And we got the opportunity to make dumplings again 🤤😋
Thank you so much for this great time and for the amazing route suggestion moving on to mani and the east of Peloponnes!

  • Our fresh olive oil

    November 27, 2021 in Greece ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

On our first day into the wild area of Mani, we passed by an old olive press factory where olives are still ground using a stone mill. We were lucky, it was their first day of operation for this season and we even got our bottle of olive oil refilled fresh from the press. 🫒👌Read more

  • After the storm

    November 28, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Our first night in Mani did not quite go according to plan. A heavy storm swept the village where we were staying, making us doubt whether our tent will survive. Our brilliantly idea to take away the poles also did not prove to be clever in the end as it quickly filled with rain 😅 the next day we had to dry a lot. Luckily we discovered that the many churches on the island offered a perfect weatherproof sleeping spot!Read more

  • Wild and windy Mani

    November 29, 2021 in Greece ⋅ 🌬 14 °C

The further we came to the tip of the mani arm, the more wild and pristine mani‘s landscape became. The Wind taught us again a lesson that he can be a friend, pushing you up some steep distances, or your enemy, forcing you to push the bike… or stop… 🙈Read more

  • Kindness from strangers

    December 2, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

On our way to Monemvasia we received so many gifts from strangers in beautiful villages. After one day our bags were suddenly filled with mandarines, olives, tomatoes and olive oil. What a nice additional weight!Read more

  • Meeting point in Nafplio

  • Our last days on peloponnes

    December 7, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Our last days on the amazing island of Peloponnes was marked with an ancient theatre where the acoustics were as good as an imax cinema and thermal springs in Methana, the best outdoor pool with slight odour 😉Read more

  • Athens!

    December 23, 2021 in Greece ⋅ 🌙 6 °C

What a crazy city, can totally understand why people need a rage room here. Cycling in the city is definitely similar to a Mario kart game with the only difference being that you do not get three lives. We really enjoyed the city and all its food but were also happy to okay escape the big city and take our ferry down to Crete just before Christmas.Read more

  • A break from our break

    December 26, 2021 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Tired from being wet and cold we decided to take a cycling break. We exchanged our bikes for a Fiat panda and decided to spend January cruising around with four wheels instead of of two. Arriving in Chania on Christmas Eve, our amazing host Joan immediately invited us to her Christmas dinner 🤶! We ate our second Turkey of our journey. Thank you so much Joan!!Read more
