    July 7, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We were booked into Etta Bay caravan park a beautiful little place on the beach where the cassowaries roam the park.
When then they gave us our site it was on the grass that was a total boggy area ant the last van and car had made it a total mess 6” deep mud holes so we decided not to stay and found a last minute spot in Innisfail at River Drive van park on the main road ( great amenities but not the best but had to make do).
Great dinner in the Crown hotel.

  • Daly Waters Pub

    July 16, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Last overnight stop before Katherine, vans lined up at 10:15am and park half full already.
Booked our beef and barra dinner tonight, great food and high quality.
I can’t believe how busy this is, if your not here by around 11-12 you won’t get a powers spot, if any.
We did the John Stuart heritage trail (only short) and read about his explorations in setting up a land communication lines across Australia and the rest of the world, very interesting read.
You have to get to happy hour at around 5:00 pm as the owner (we think) does a great talk about the area and the history of Daly Waters with his horse that walks through the bar.
Great night at the pub, music meeting people and having a few drinks, it’s like this every night apparently.
