Up at 6 am for breakfast. Today we plan to take a taxi for 30 minutes to Milngavie. From there we will walk 12.5 miles to Drymen.
Our first day on West Highland Way trail

A steep climb up Conic Hill

Tuesday we hiked 15 miles. Climbing Conic Hill above Loch Lomond was challenging.

We have 12 miles to go along Loch Lomond today. Then we will catch a ferry to sleep at the Ardlui Hotel in North Loch Lomond.

Inverarnen to Tyndrum

We hiked from Ardlui to Tyndrum today. Our longest mileage and it seemed like our easiest day. Cloudy to start and gradually blue sky by afternoon. A fun Thursday!

旅行者The trees are beautiful. And the cuckoo bird is one of the most common birds here. Lots of sheep and baby sheep. Today we saw black sheep for the first time.

Lee calls today “our day off” as we only will hike 7 miles today: from Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy. Should be short with little elevation change. We don’t anticipate any rain. We enjoy theもっと詳しく
旅行者Great meals so far. Breakfast is usually cereal and toast. Lunch is a cookie and a Lara bar along the trail. Dinner for me has been a cheeseburger and fries for me, but last night I had lasagne. The last two nights we had desert: cake and ice cream. We are walking off the calories, that’s for sure!

Saturday: ready for a good hike

Today we hike from Bridge of Orchy (pictured above, built in 1700s) to Kinghouse. 12 miles and lots of elevation gain. Rain is expected, hopefully light.

Great 12 mile hike today. We made it here in 5 1/2 hours. No rain!! Just overcast. Feeling good!

旅行者Great! Then you can see we are surrounded by mountains. Across the street from us there is a chairlift for skiing and snowboarding in the winter.

Our last day was wet, rainy, soggy, overcast, and 16 miles long, from Kinlochleven to Fort Williams. We had fun with photos at the official end of the West Highland Way!
