  • London Full Day 2

    May 28, 2024 in England ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

We had a pretty chill day today! Eddie really did cover just about every major tourist spot yesterday, so we didn’t have a ton left to do. Furthermore, it was cold, with off and on rain the whole day. We started our day with English breakfasts, which we devoured. We then got free tickets to the National History Museum, where we spent a really long time. Always fun reading and learning about history. We then grabbed an early dinner around 4, which I forgot to photograph. After that journey, we headed back home and took some naps until around 7, and then headed to dinner number two around 8. We went to another wonderful Shiela recommendation, Dashoom. We got a lamb appetizer, different chicken meals, garlic naan, and rice. It was spicy, but soooo good. We all really liked it. Huge shoutout to my mom for sponsoring this dinner!! We were a big fan and very thankful, as this part of the trip had been expensive! I also had to try an IPA and an Indian restaurant! We finished our night with gelato and got back to our airbnb around 11. Lights out almost immediately with our full bellies! A fun, chill day to round out our time in our last new stop. Can’t believe our trip is almost over!Read more

  • Travel Day: London to Barcelona

    May 29, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

What a day! We started with some yummy breakfast at a hole in the wall called Shiela’s! We decided to head to the airport fairly early, as we again were flying through London Stansted. Our bus ride was 5 times quicker this time, so we had around a 4 hour wait in the airport and flew out at 6 pm. We grabbed food and then just lounged around. We got to the airport in Barcelona and somehow figured out the train/metro, which was in Spanish, and got to our hotel around 11. We dropped our bags and immediately headed out for dinner and drinks. We had beers and tequila at a ginormous bar filled with college-aged kids. Then we headed to the infamous Razzmatazz, the biggest club in Barca, around 2. It was really cool with good music and tons of people! We then walked to the casino around 4, where I finally won big 🎉🥳. We closed it out again, and hopped on the Metro just before 6. This is where things get crazy. All of our phones were dead by the end of the Metro. We tried to go off memory and walked around 20 minutes, where we eventually found some people who spoke broken English where we were. We ended up being like 40 minutes for our hotel. The gave us a direction to walk and we continued to ask random people on the street for help until we made it back and got to bed at 7:15. Quite the adventure for our last hoorah of the trip. A funny memory for sure!Read more

  • Last Full Day: Barcelona

    May 30, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

After going to bed when the sun was up, we slept until about noon. We got ready and had a 30 min walk to La Sagrada Familia. It towers over everything! We got in the area, and grabbed some Taco Bell before heading in. Hard to put into words how beautiful to Sagrada is. It is crazy to see the architecture of a relatively new basilica. It is so close to being finished! The statues and sculptures on the outside are insane! The stain class inside is gorgeous. This was definitely one of our favorite stops! After our tour, we headed back to take much needed naps. We had dinner at a local spot around 8. We spent our last night at the casino, where we all left winners. Sweet end to the day and the trip! Last day of our trip tomorrow. Bittersweet!Read more
