Stadt zwischen neu und alt mit gemütlichen und ungemütlichen Ecken. Viel im Bau also wohl wachsende Stadt in typisch-schönem Industrie-Schick mit Bausünden der 70/80 Jahre. Es hat viele Möwen und die machen die Stadt dreckig - inkls. Häuser - vollgeschissen, Federn, Unrat... Auch merkt man das die Stadt auf die Touristen der Schiffe (Hurtigruten und Kreuzfahrtschiffe ) ausgelegt ist. Viele Bars und Restaurants die sich nicht füllen wenn nicht gerade Schiffe mit Massen an Menschen da sind.

Tromsø ist mit 75.128 Einwohnern die größte Stadt im Norden von Norwegen und zugleich die achtgrösste Stadt des Landes. Tromsø liegt 344 Kilometer nördlich vom Polarkreis und damit in etwa auf der geographischen Breite von Nord-Alaska. Damit einher gehen auch so einige Superlative: In Tromsø findet man unter anderem die nördlichste Universität der Welt, die nördlichste Kathedrale der Welt, den nördlichsten McDonald's und 🍔 👑 und auch die nördlichste Brauerei der Welt – zumindest bezogen auf das Festland.
Warum Tromsø auch “Venedig des Nordens” genannte wird, erklärt sich mit den nachfolgenden Zahlen von selbst: Das 2558 Quadratkilometer große Stadtgebiet verteilt sich auf 1434 Quadratkilometer Festland und weitere 1124 Quadratkilometer auf mehreren Inseln vor der Küste.
Tromsø ist ein wichtiger Hafen für die Schiffe der “Hurtigruten”-Schiffe, die hier auf der nordgehenden und südgehenden Route für längere Zeit anlegen. Alleine dieses Einlaufen des täglichen Postschiffes mit dem traditionellen Sirenensignal ist ein Erlebnis für sich, zumal der “Hurtigruten-Kai” sehr zentral, fast im Zentrum der Stadt liegt.

There is also a lot of construction going on in a growing city with a typically beautiful industrial chic with architectural sins from the 70s/80s. It has a lot of seagulls and they make the city dirty - incl. Houses - full of shit, feathers, rubbish... You can also tell that the city is designed for tourists masses from ships (Hurtigruten and cruise ships). Many bars and restaurants don't fill up unless there are ships with masses of people.
