Terracotta warriors

This is another place where pictures, TV, etc, do not do justice to actually seeing this. The emperor, who is the statue in the last picture, had all this built over 2,000 years ago as his guards in the afterlife. There are thousands of these statues, most of which have not been excavated as the original color fades within a few hours of exposure to air and light. It is extraordinary. Czytaj więcej
