Dartmoor :D

Met Mia at Waterloo station. Boarded our train in good time - at the time it was meant to leave, it didn’t. The conductor says something over the tannoy, but as all public transport manual passenger announcements go, it was unintelligible. We chit chat for a while and then the train conductor in person says there’s a signal failure at Woking so all the trains at Waterloo are held up, “we should be moving soon,” he says. After waiting for some one hour and twenty minutes, we decide to leave and go via Paddington. Shortly after leaving Waterloo, the train we booked gets cancelled…. Lol (our connecting train from Waterloo - Exeter St Davids also got cancelled anyways because a tree blocked the railway).

We zoom over to Paddington and catch the next departing train to Newton Abbot. Newton Abbot of course is a quaint town, basically all the shops were closed when we arrived (~16:30), but not some of the pubs!!!! 🍻

We went to the pub near the train station, pints were £6 which was kind of shocking as it’s not London. Every man there was bald and wearing some sort of a blue top, it was epic (example in photo four). Then we got another pint at Spooooooooons, and some chicken strips and chips. Our trip to spoons cost us the last bus to Bovey, so we took a cab and walked from there. The guy who drove us was nice.Read more
