The cathedral was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on October 31, 1984.
It is the only Spanish cathedral that has this distinction independently, without being joined to the historic center of a city (as in Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Ávila, Córdoba, Toledo, Alcalá de Henares or Cuenca) or in union with other buildings, as in Seville.
It is similar in design to Brussels Cathedral

The Renaissance Golden staircase built by
Diego de Siloé in the early 1520s. It was modelled on the stairway of the Cortile Belvedere by Bramante (in the Vatican).Read more

The main chapel of the Burgos Cathedral ( Burgos , Castilla y León , Spain ), the main place of worship of the Castilian Cathedral , was built in the central decades of the 13th century in the French Gothic style

The main altarpiece presides over the chapel , a work in the Romanist Renaissance style begun in 1562 by Rodrigo de la Haya and completed after his death in 1577 by his brother.

On the road again.....

The morning in Burgos is just as beautiful as the afternoon.
Surprisingly came upon 2 Brazilian ladies who were in Orisson same day as I.

More surprises
Allison started with me on the same day in St. Jean and pretty much kept the same schedule for the next 3 phases. She was walking with a Dutch lady Monique who is a fast walker so I thought them to be way ahead...mm
Imagine both of our surprises when we met just on the outskirts coming out of Burgos! 🙀
Allison is a CA girl but has been living in UK for the last 12 years.

Stopped for a short break
Checked on my ampuilles..so far they are holding up

Bwuee between wwwwell fffolks wez made it here. Me, myself and I and my pics y ampulles

Within reasons I still feel them (one day rest technically is not enough to heal) but I moved along fine in the sandals

20 klicks..kicks... Did a good chunk of it in the morning with cooler temperatures (it did rain last night, Thanks be to GOD)
