Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty. By ferry I went to Liberty Island. The tourist magnet. People everywhere. On the way to the ferry you have to go through a security check similar to the airport. The ferries are made full to the brim and in today's weather there is decent swell and that leads to a lot of rolling of the ship and body contact of the passengers. Especially when boarding and disembarking, the swell led to involuntary jumps. In total, the whole thing takes over 3 hours, for the one picture, which there are already a million times, but just belongs to New York. ✅

Die Freiheitsstatue. Mit der Fähre ging es zu Liberty Island. Der Touristenmagnet. Überall Menschen. Auf dem Weg zur Fähre muss man durch eine Sicherheitskontrolle ähnlich wie am Flughafen. Die Fähren werden randvoll gemacht und bei dem heutigen Wetter gibt es ordentlichen Wellengang und das führt zu sehr viel Rollen vom Schiff und Körperkontakt der Fahrgäste. Gerade beim Ein- und Aussteigen führte der Wellengang zu unfreiwilligen Sprüngen. Insgesamt dauert das ganze über 3 Stunden, für das eine Bild, das es schon millionenfach gibt, aber gehört halt zu New York dazu. ✅Read more
