The Australia Connection..

Guess you can't be anymore, Aussie, than this.
Blue Ocean...

Delicious meal at a very friendly run restaurant. The employee was nice enough to go through her personal money to give us a Tuvalu coin.
Dance Rehearsal

In the coming week is a national celebration which will involve a dance presentation and competition. We are fortunate to watch and participate in a moving rehearsal.
The Director...

The whole practice is under the watchful eyes and ears of a community elder who is rigid about the presentation.
The Drum Section

Community elders are responsible for the main drum section, and they perform with a lot of enthusiasm.
The Men...

Perform traditional songs and dance, too. They do it with gusto.
Free Breakfast...

Thanks to one of the guests at Filamona, we get to enjoy a delicious crepe.
Last Morning Hike...

I set off along the runway to take in Funafuti, hopefully not for the last time in my life.
Water.. A Popular Commodity

With the best place to buy being at one of the local general merchandise stores.
A Manual Flight Check In..

Once the airport opens, you can check in for your flight, and it's a very manual process with a handwritten boarding pass.
Local Souvenirs

Available at the airport for arrival and departure flights. Some of the items are made on the other islands and brought to Funafuti.
Zesty In-flight Snack

Delicious combination of flavors.. Oats and Ginger..
Inbound Flight..

Arriving from Suva, Fiji.
Goodbye Funafuti...

Visiting Tuvalu was definitely one of my favorite destinations. I hope I get the chance to return.
A Message From Millie

About a month after I left Funafala, another travel visited and passed along this message. I certainly hope I get to visit Millie and her family again.
