San Christóbal de las Casas

Mittwoch Abend mussten wir uns vom Strand und unseren Freunden vom Hostel verabschieden und nahmen den Nachtbus nach San Christobal de las Casas. Wir sind 14 Stunden gefahren und konnten halbwegs gut schlafen, jedoch kurz vor unserem Ziel gab es einen großen Rumpler und wir mussten mit dem Bus direkt am Highway anhalten. Der Motor ist halb explodiert und die Teile warn über den ganzen Highway verstreut. Es hat lang gedauert bis alle Teile wieder eingesammelt wurden und wir mussten dann schlussendlich von einem anderen Bus abgeholt werden. Aber dann haben wir es gut an unser Ziel geschafft!

San Christobal de las Casas ist eine wunderschöne, einheimische Stadt in den Bergen wieder auf über die 2000 Meter. Wir haben uns die Stadt angeschaut und Anna hat sich einen mexikanischen Haarschnitt machen lassen! Am Abend ging’s auf eine Rooftopbar mit Sonnenuntergang Blick und dann natürlich wieder in eine Salsa Bar! Das war unser letzter Abend zusammen🫂💙

On Wednesday evening, we had to say a tearful (and slightly sandy) goodbye to the beach and all our lovely hostel buddies. Off we went on a 14-hour night bus to San Cristóbal de las Casas, fully expecting a peaceful snooze.

Plot twist: just before we arrived, the bus gave a massive BOOM, like something out of a Fast & Furious movie. The engine kind of... exploded (just a little), and metal bits went flying across the highway like confetti at a mechanical New Year’s party. 🎆🚌

We ended up chilling on the side of the road while the crew went full scavenger hunt mode to collect all the rogue engine parts. Eventually, a rescue bus showed up and carried our half-asleep, slightly confused selves to our final destination. Victory!

San Cristóbal de las Casas is absolutely gorgeous—a vibrant, local mountain town sitting at over 2,000 meters above sea level. We explored the colorful streets, soaked in the high-altitude vibes, and Anna got herself a fresh Mexican-style haircut. 💇‍♀️💃

In the evening, we hit a rooftop bar with a killer sunset view, followed (naturally) by one last round of salsa dancing. Our final night together—unforgettable. 🫂💙Baca selengkapnya
