Detroit - Automakers & Artists

We had a very interesting min-vacation with minimal unexpected hiccups:
- Both flights between BWI and DTW were on time or early. No issues with security screening or anything at the airports, in contrast to the “world is falling” news about the impact of the government furlough. TSA had adequate manning and no one seemed unduly stressed.😇
- Car rental was uneventful from airport shuttle to actual driving. Thank you HertzGold program 🙂
- Spent more time at the Henry Ford museum than estimated- it was larger and more varied than we imagined. There’s still large swaths of the museum we didn’t see. Plus we didn’t know about the evening Halloween festivities, which might require a redo in 2026 or 2027
- Both hotels were comfortable stays
- The artist visit was really interesting and we met some cool people and listened to some good music.
