    Day 42: Final wandering in Valencia

    Slow getting started but headed out to see some final sights and also do a little shopping.

    I was excited to see the inside of the old public market. My guide Mimoza had indicated that the designer also designed the Eiffel Tower. You could see the similarities as it was beautiful, lots of arches, and functional. I wandered the market - tempted to buy so many things but my backpack can only take so much. I especially was craving the tomatoes and cucumbers - yes weird - but you add fresh mozzarella - it is the best.

    Off to find a special store where I could find copper to ground me - and I found a nice copper nugget for my necklace of charms.

    Happened on a city museum with artifacts found in Valencia. The most interesting was the Refugee shelters that were built to protect the citizens when the bombing happened. The city was bombed 237 days out of the 982 days of the Civil War (July 1936 to March 1939) They built many of the shelters under schools and factories The designer (Luis Testor) required the shelters to have two exits in case one collapsed.

    Next was as the Ceramic Museum which was the home of the Marquis Dos Aguas (I mentioned him yesterday). Beautiful house with unique ceilings and walls with sculptures. The ceramics were nice but not much different than other museums except the copper looking vases and containers
