Unicycle Circumnavigation

6.30pm (Flight departure time 8.15pm)
Disassembly of unicycle for check-in.
I need a cardboard bike box!
None to be found to buy at the airport!
I actually made a box at home to fit the unicycle and last night, at 1am, I drove to a spot near the airport and hid it in the bushes. When I returned today to retrieve it, via taxi detour, it was gone.
Check-in staff told me latest check-in time is 7pm.
At 7.10, I got back to check-in counter (one counter left still open for Air NZ) with 1 baggage to check-in.
I presented for check-in a big bundle of half wrapped unicycle parts and the bits from bags lossly encased with two McDonald’s cardboard case boxes and straps.
Check-in staff weighed it - 30.4kg.
Size 900mm x 900mm x 280mm. Overweight and oversized and holes big enough for stuff to fall out.
Miracle! They accepted it with no extra charge!! Got my boarding passes.
Took the mess of baggage to plastic wrapper! All good - took to oversized counter to check-in. Time 7.45pm.

7.45pm!! (flight departs at 8.15)
Boarding time must be now!!
