    Am Rolandsbogen

    June 20, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

And done! I arrived at the Rolandsbogen, the end point of the #Rheinburgenweg. Today was easier than the previous days, ad it didn't have the steep ups and downs.

Well, time to go to the train station to get home. Too many people here to stick around. The beer has to wait a little longer 😆.Read more

No Castles on the Rheinburgenweg no more

    June 19, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

The path was for the most day far, far away from the Rhine. I wonder why this is part of the Rheinburgenweg.

The most interesting segment was going through an old stone quarry, where already the Romans broke stones, which where used as far away as Trier.

Found again a nice little shelter for the night - with a view.

    More Mosel than Rhine

    June 18, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

After a rainy night and morning I was off to a late start. Approaching Koblenz the Rheinburgenweg turns into the Mosel valley, where it runs jointly with the Moselhochweg and the Moselsteig for a significant segment. After dinner in a restaurant (needed to charge my phone) it's time to set up camp for the night, again in one of the little huts.Read more

    Hiding from the rain

    June 17, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌧 17 °C

The day was mostly good. Foggy when I woke up, a bit of rain, then even sunshine. Some nice single tails in between, some cherry trees along the way, more castles, beautiful villages.
But now heavy rain, so I am staying for the night in the shelter here.Read more

    Nice encounter

    June 16, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Pretty tough day, with about 1500 vertical meters over 43km. Some steep climbs. Several castles, as expected, and a very nice surprise encounter.

    Coffee break

    June 16, 2020 in Germany ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

10k done, time for a coffee break. Burg Stahleck, now a youth hostel, is just the prefect sport for this.

    1st Day

    June 15, 2020 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

First segment on the Rheinburgenweg. Not too hot and no rain, pretty good for hiking. And found myself a nice spot for the night. And now it's dinner tiiiiime! :-)
