They just announced that those of us who were originally going from Emeryville to San. Jose will instead be getting off in Sacramento and getting our connection from there. Even MORE adventure!!!

We have left the California Zephyr, a long haul train and have landed on a commuter train the Capitol Corridor. As you can see we are thrilled.

We finally arrived at the endpoint of the California Zephyr. We beat our original train to this station, so it was a good thing we transferred.
Now it is only bout another hour or so to get home.

So beautiful and exciting, I really love the trip west. I know you and Russell must be having a blast.
I suspect the mountains go all the way up, Sarah. Wonderful sunset brilliant and deep red clouds turning the ocean golden here on the coast. I have the window seat. Absolutely sweet end to a jazz weekend.. Thanks to you all for making it possible. We are just leaving Santa barbara. this is the moment when i never want it to end.
