    Tennant Creek Cup

    We were planning a quick stop at Tennant Creek for breakfast and a loaf of bread. Brett and I missed the door to the IGA and got talking to a local who told us that the Annual Tennant Creek Cup was on today, and that it was a big event for the town. So, change of plans, off to the races it was.

    We parked at the races, got school work done and frocked up the best we could in our traveling clothes and thongs. We did ok, and didn’t feel to out of place.

    Out of 6 races we picked 2 winners. It was a fun day out, watching the horses race on the red dirt. The kids enjoyed getting up close and personal to the horses before each races and seeing which one had a lot of energy, we would then put our bet on this one. I preferred to look for pretty ones, but I was told “pretty doesn’t win races” 🤷🏼‍♀️.

    After an interesting visit to the bottle shop, where we had to wait an extremely long time in-line due to an altercation, we headed out of town for the night.
