Faux pais à l'heure du déjeuner

Rural pubs and Inns have 'plat de jour'. This we know, but a buffet set out with salad and desserts, we did not!
French dinining can be very prescribed - you have the salad course, then you pause, then you have your main, you pause, a cheese course, dessert, and then café. Mess with that order and Madame Propriétés Les Belles Caves and the rest of the dining room guests are very confused!! They thought we were rude Parisians!
Best meal in France with lots of laughs.
